Distribution Known only from Pearl River, southern part of the People's Republic of China [details]

Distribution Southern China [details]

Ecology The species is found in freshwater stretches of the Pearl river, but it is possible that T. achaetus in fact is a brackish-water species that has extended its range into the freshwater bodies of the lower Pearl River; in Guangzhou the river is influenced by the tidal waves of the South China sea, and both brackish-water polychaetes (Shen & Qi, 1982) and copepods (Qi & Zhao, 1984) have been reported from this reach. [details]

Ecology Brackish water (new record) and freshwater. Soft sediments. [details]

Etymology named achaetus for the species is lacking setae entirely [details]
