Type designation According to Jarrett & Bousfield (1994), M. fultoni sensu Gurjanova is not identical with M. fultoni (Scott, 1890) which was described from Scotland and is restricted to the NE Atlantic. This species was therefore retained in the genus Metaphoxus and a new type species, Parametaphoxus quaylei Jarrett & Bousfield, 1994, designated for Parametaphoxus. [details]Unreviewed
