Habitat In brackish-water lagoons and coastal ponds (0.5-3 m depth) it occurs often associated with Zostera and Nanozostera meadows; in marine environments (3.5 to 100 m) it is typically related with anthropogenic organic enrichment, such as sewage pollution and fish farms, but it also occurs in muddy and sandy sediments and maërl beds. [details]
