Additional information Dichelaspis is considered to be synonym to Octolasmis by many authors including Zevina, Ren & Liu, Jones. However, Young (1998) considered Octolasmis is divided into two groups, the Octolasmis s.l. which are associated with decapod crustaceans and Dichelaspis are free living species and inhabit the deep-sea. The generic status of Dichelaspis is supported in Pilsbry (1907) and Newman et al. (1969). The phylogenetic and taxonomic status of Dichelaspis should be examined and justified by future molecular approaches. Diagnostic morphological features of Dichelaspis include the triangular shaped capitulum and the base of carina forms a disc (From Benny Chan).PILSBRY, H.A., 1907 - Hawaiian Cirripedia. Bull Bur. Fish., Washington, 26:181-204, pis.6-11.
