Distribution When the first species of Hemigrapsus was introduced to European coasts ca. 1995, Hemigrapsus takanoi Asakura & Watanabe, 2005 was obviously not described ; so, logically, the crab was named Hemigrapsus penicillatus (De Haan, 1835) [See Noël P.
