Diagnosis Medusa with four straight radial canals; four perradial marginal tentacles; marginal cirri; mouth simple, cruciform; with or without mesenteries; gonads nterradial, smooth, sometimes extending over mesenteries; without ocelli; cnidome, when known with merotrichous isorhizae.Hydroid with the characters as for family diagnosis.
