Spelling The original spelling of Langerhans (1881: 116) is with double i, 'Vincentii'. Hartman catalogue has this correctly, but drops to a single i for the genus type species name. The single i spelling might be in prevailing usage, for example in Fournier & Barrie (1987) where they appear to be unaware the original and correct spelling is double ii, but here we revert to the original spelling.
