Type locality Thorshavner [= Tórshavn] Bay, Faroe Islands, NE Atlantic Ocean [gazetteer estimate 62.0073°, -6.7684°], in shore or shallow water sheltered from waves, under the windows of Governor Lunddahl ["unter den Fenstern des Herrn Landvogt Lunddahl"; assumed to be in Tinganes Peninsula, where many of the Faroese government buildings have been traditionally located], on the surface of stones, where they could be found in clusters of thirty to fifty specimens. [details]
