Nomenclature Combination relating to Polynoe astericola Delle Chiaje, 1841, disputed new name for Polynoe squamosa (q.v = Acholoe squamosa). Chambers & Muir (1997) reverted to Acholoe squamosa as the valid name, but for unknown reasons Barnich & Fiege reverted to Acholoe astericola. Logically the name should be Acholoe squamosa as the Delle Chiaje later renaming has no basis under the ICZN code. [details]
