Habitat Not stated at the original description, but according to Fauvel (1923: 327) it was dredged on a bed of old shells (probably of oysters).  [details]

Original description The species was described as new during the year of 1900 in two different publications, the Annales des Sciences Naturelles (Sér. 8, Vol. 11), and the Bulletin du Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (Vol. 6), with base on the same description and figures. Fauvel (1923: 327) and Hartman (1959: 219) cited the description published in the Annales des Sciences Naturelles as being the original description.  [details]
