From editor or global species database
Classification The transfer of Didiscus formerly a genus of Desmoxyidae (Hooper in the Systema Porifera) or Heteroxyidae (Morrow et al. 2019) to Raspailiidae (Morrow et al. 2019), based on sequence data of 4 Didiscus species (18S, 28S and COI, cf. a.o. Erpenbeck et al. 2011) is provisional because no sequence data are so far avaialble from the type species, Didiscus placospongioides. Because the synapomorphy of the genus, i.e. possession of didiscorhabds is unique, there is little doubt that the affiliation as a member of Raspailiidae will prove to be correct. [details]
