Nomenclature Pseudophyllodocidae should have been named Eteonopsidae as it was based on the only existing genus Eteonopsis. This is a Code requlrement (Article 11.7), and if the family did not have a senior synonym, the name would need to be replaced with Eteonopsidae. Wesenberg-Lund (1938) synonymised the genus into Ophryotrocha and the family into Dorvilleidae. Pseudophyllodocidae had received minimal usage by authors subsequent to Bidenkap. [details]

[details]
