A new species Ophiohelis densispinus sp.n. from Ophiacanthidae family is described. Two specimens of this very small species were found ny RV Vityaz on concretion of the underwater mountains Markus-Nekker at depth of 1296 to 1334 m. The structure and location of umbrella-like quills makes the species different from the two other already known species.
