Remark non H. maculata Lesseur 1824. Pearson (1913) does not follow Semper's new name (H. arenicola): H. maculata had become accepted as a name for this species; the description of Lesseur was not adequate. Apparently more recent authors did use Semper's name. In his 1914 paper, Pearson assigns the species to a new sub-genus: (Argiodia).
