Identification Some misidentifications occurred. Siberian specimens of Holothuria minuta are referable to Ocnus glacialis. Danielsen & Koren (1882), Théel (1886a) and Ludwig (1889-1892) recognized H. minuta as synonym of Cucumaria minuta. Strangely enough, the species C. minuta is not mentioned in British faunas (Mortensen, 1927; Mac Kenzie, 1991) (Massin, C., pers. comm.). H. minuta might be a synonym of Pentacta minuta Jaeger, 1833. However, the authority who established this synonymy should be checked (Massin, C., pers. Comm.). Panning (1971) cited P. minuta as a valid species. [details]
