Taxonomy Palmyra is currently monotypic, containing only P. aurifera, other species originally placed in the genus having been moved to Chrysopetalidae and Pholoidae, and the Palmyra subgenera Palmyrides and Palmyropsis of Claparède, 1864 thus placed as junior synonyms of Chrysopetalum. Palmyropsis of Potts (1910) is a junior homonym of Palmyropsis Claparède, 1864, and its species P. macintoshi is a subjective synonym of Palmyra aurifera. The family Palmyridae is no longer recognised. [details]
