Taxonomy Chamberlin (1919:182) used a non-existent name for designating a type for Ephesiella. He used Ephesia peripatus unqualifed as though Claparède has erected the name, although he was well aware the concept was different from that of Johnston. Claparède (1863) had believed he was describing Johnston's species and placed it in Sphaerodorum. Fauvel (1923:379) also uses the name but makes clear it is not Johnston's species. [details]
