Classification In his text Pallas mentions the worm tubes are aggregated like coral. Knight-Jones & Perkins (1998) state that Tubularia penicillus of Pallas 1766, are Sabellariidae, not Sabellidae as are the other T. penicillus, but they give no further explanation to enable the assigning of the name to a known species. In his Sabellariidae monograph Kirtley (1994) does not appear to mention this name, or the work of Pallas 1766. [details]
