Description Inhabits coastal and oceanic waters but more often found near islands (Ref. 5213). Feeds mainly on small fishes. Marketed mostly fresh and salted. Utilized also smoked and frozen (Ref. 9987). Reaches at least 120 cm in total length or 90 cm body length (excluding head and caudal fin) and because the jaws are frequently broken, the latter measurement must be used (Ref. 9682). [details]
