Taxonomic remark The species name Crania suessii created by Reeve, 1862 to describe some Crania from northern Australia was unavailable. The name C. suessii was already preoccupied by one created by Bosquet (1859). Therefore, Lee & Brunton (1986) created the new name Neocrania reevei to accommodate the species. [details]
