Nomenclature Not to be confused with Terebratula gaudichaudii as described by Gray, 1833, for specimens now recognized as Neothyris lenticularis. Once Terebratula gaudichaudi Blainville was synonymized with Magellania venosa, Gray's use of the name for the other species was invalid, with the 1839 name 'lenticularis' being used for the other species.
