Type locality Maldonado (2002: 146) erroneously gave the Pacific coast of Chile as type locality, but he misread the longitude as 77°W in stead of 77°E. The type locality and so far only record of this species is from the Southern Indian Ocean E of the island of St. Paul. [details]

Holotype Maldonado gives BMNH slides as the holotype, but there is a proper holotype specimen in the Berlin Museum.
