Nomenclature Jayasri & Hofman (1982) refer to Myxidium mavori Kudo & Megliscth, 1981, but this work appears to be an unpublihsed manuscipt name, which is invalid:
"Kudo, R.R. & Megiitsch, P.A. (1981) Synopsis of the Myxosporida, Revision of Kudo, 1920. [Manuscript nearly com- pleted, 1143 pp.]"
Since Jayasri & Hofman (1982) are the first to publish the name in a printed and publiblishd work, they are the taxonomic authority.
