Taxonomy Genus and (monotypic) species name proposed without accompanying descriptions and must therefore be regarded as nomina nuda. Hudsonia ruber is nevertheless generally mentioned among syonyms of Gastropus stylifer Imhof, which probably originates from Rousselet's statement, referred to in the original reference, that "he believed Hudsonia (Notops) ruber has already been described under the name Notops pygmalis" (sic) (syn. G. stylifer) by Calman. [details]
