Paralectotype ZMB 4267, geounit Shark Bay [details]
From editor or global species database
Lectotype Sarà (2002) reviewed type material, which consisted originally of two specimens, is now apparently distributed over three museum collections (Zoologisches Museum Hamburg (ZMH), Naturmuseum Berlin (ZMB) and the Natural History Museum of London). Sarà picked a slide in the latter museum as lectotype, but this is obviously made from an original specimen in the Hamburg collection, either one of two specimens registered as ZMH 1530 2/54. The Berlin Museum fragment ZMB 4267 (not the quoted ZMB 6589) was also taken from one of these Hamburg specimens in 1910, but so far we do not which one. As the lectotype slide is part of one of the two Hamburg specimens, this lectotype designation is ambiguous and needs to be addressed further.
