Type locality Southeast Atlantic Ocean, South Africa, False Bay, St. James (geocoordinates not provided, estimated with gazetteer to be approximately lat. -34.121º, long. 18.457º), intertidal. [details]
Type material Day (1953; 1967) clearly stated that the type specimen was from St. James (Day, 1953: 422), and the type locality "St. James, South Africa" (Day, 1967: 287). However, according to Nygren (2004: 152) and the online catalogue of the NHM, London (Myrianida pulchella), the holotype would be the second specimen studied by Day (1953: 422) (NHM 1961.16.12), from Cape Province, while the specimen from St. James, False Bay (NHM 1953.11.16.9) would be the paratype. [details]
