Description Found along continental margins in most tropical and temperate seas. Feeds on other sharks, rays, bony fishes, and cephalopods. Viviparous, with a yolk-sac placenta, and has litters of 13 to 20 pups, 60 to 70 cm at birth (Ref. 2334). Migratory in the northern part of its range, moving northward in spring and summer and southward in autumn and winter. Utilized for human consumption. Considered a dangerous species. [details]
