Comparison Like Astrangia, but corallum often massive with plocoid calice arrangement; coenosteum between corallites (peritheca) striate or spinose. [details]Diagnosis Colonial, massive or subramose, plocoid. Gemmation extracalicinal, corallites united basally by striate or spinose coenosteum. Septa irregularly perforated, dentate laterally. Columella papillose. Endothecal dissepiments thin. [details]
