Synonymy Desbruyères & Hourdez (2006:219) in the Vent Fauna Handbook newly synonymised (but not indicated as such) Opisthotrochopodus alvinus to Branchinotogluma hessleri. As both are the types of their genus, this invalidates Opisthotrochopodus and effectively places all species of Opisthotrochopodus in Branchinotogluma, until further reviewed. [details]
