Diagnosis Original diagnosis from Rainer (1973: 550): ''Prostomium rounded or bilobed anteriorly and with a tapering nuchal ridge posteriorly. Eyes present or absent. Gills commence on setiger II, are absent from setiger V, and continue posteriorly. Anterior setigers with winged capillaries in both rami. Setiger V enlarged, provided with modified setae of one or two kinds, usually accompanied by dorsal and ventral capillaries. Posterior notopodia may have modified dorsal setae. Bified hooded hooks present in posterior neuropodia from setiger VIII. Pygidium glandular, often as a broadly-flaring collar open dorsally.'' [details]
