Editor's comment A labelling error resulted in the inclusion of Diplotis in annelids by many authors, because the (wrong) figure was clearly a spionid (correctly matched to its name it was Montagu's Spio crenaticornis). See Diplotis hyalina notes. Neave placed Diplotis as an insect genus, presumably based on Montagu's comment of "resemblance to the larva of some insect ..." [details]
