A single individual was taken from a shoal near Pivers Island at low water line. Neuropodia have long, digitate, erect lobes at their upper edge. The prostomium has a pair of conspicuous black eyespots near its posterior margin and a pair of much smaller ones near the others. Interramal cirri are first present from about the fifth segment and continued posteriorly to near the end; they are clearly involute. Total length is about 27 mm." [details]

Publication date Inadvertently prematurely published in 1945. The full description is not until the 1950 paper, which Hartman expected to be published first. Pettibone (1963: 190) was probably first to record the earlier 1945 date. [details]
Synonymy The laconic suggested synonymy in Knox 1960 (where 'dicirris' is misspelled 'dicirrus') has nevertheless been followed by subsequent workers, eg Hilbig (1994) [details]
