Nomenclature Nematonereis grubei is an invalid replacement name. Quatrefages transfers Grube's 1840 Lumbriconereis unicornis to Schmarda's Nematonereis, but the name would then be an exact match to the existing N. unicornis Schmarda. So Quatrefages renamed Grube's species to Nematonereis grubei. This is understandable, but is not possible, and is the opposite resolution of the secondary homonymy to what he should have done. As Grube's name had priority Quatrefages should instead have created a replacement name for Schmarda's N. unicornis. [details]
