Authority Authorship of this name was incorrectly attributed to Grube (1856) in WoRMS (data entry error) and was corrected (November 2015) to (Kinberg, 1857), original combination Lirione maculata. Lirione is a synonym of Notopygos. [details]Spelling Chamberlin (1919) modified the species name to 'maculatus' when he recombined to Notopygos but this is incorrect as Grube treated his genus Notopygos as feminine. [details]
