Etymology The specfic epithet magnanuchalata is composed by the Latin adjective magna, feminine of magnus and meaning 'large', 'big', or 'great', and the word nuchalata, derived from the Latin words nucha, meaning 'neck', and latus, meaning 'side', and refers to the presence of a big semicircular nuchal fold or lappet in the anterior region of the peristomium, projecting anteriorly and covering the biggest part of the prostomium.
