Editor's comment In Pott's two figures Polybranchia foxi appears to be a posterior fragment, perhaps of a capitellid, although it is very large at the stated 80 mm length. Does not match characters of Spionidae. [details]Type locality Lake Timsah, Suez Canal, Egypt. An inland lake, originally brackish, penetrated by the construction of the Suez Canal, and first connected to the (Mediterranean) sea in 1862. [details]
