Taxonomy Both Moore and Hartman do not mention the unique spokes on the tube. The first observation of this was by McDaniel & Banse (1979) who also compared Moore's specimen with theirs, in considerable detail. As their specimens were from inshore shallow water and Moore's from around 900 m there is a considerable depth difference, but they appear confident the instances were the same taxon. [details]
