Taxonomy Hutchings & McRae, 1993 treated A. terrareginae as a valid species, however they were apparently not aware that Augener, 1922 had treated this species as a junior synonym of A. australis Baird. Hutchings & McRae (1993) is followed because they redescribed probable type specimen not available to Augener. Hutchings & McRae, 1993 also provide a diagnosis distinguishing this species from all other Indo-Pacific Aphrodita species. [details]
