Taxonomy Current taxon previously considered to be a junior synonym of Glycera capitata Örsted, 1843, but now regarded as an indeterminable glycerid. From Böggemann (2002: 87): "Johnston (1865) referred Nereis teres Dalyell, 1853 and Nereis sorex from the Leach collection to Glycera capitata (= Glycera lapidum, see p. 40). However, the description and drawings of Nereis teres Dalyell, 1853 only show that this taxon probably belongs to the genus Glycera. An exact classification is not possible since the type material cannot be located." [details]
