Nomenclature Frey & Leuckart's usage (1847: 152) is definitely of Cuvier's species of 1816, formerly Amphitrite ostrearia. However, the Hartman catalogue (1959: 471) lists the name as Hermella ostrearia Frey & Leuckart, 1847 and refers it to Sabellaria spinulosa. Both are mistaken listings by Hartman. It is possible she got those placements from Malmgren (1867: 102) who included Frey & Leuckart's usage as if it was an original name and placed it in the synonymy of Sabellaria spinulosa [details]
