Note "Le havre Carteret" according to Quatrefages....
Type locality "Le havre Carteret" according to Quatrefages. Although Quatrefages does not list a collector, Knight-Jones & Perkins (1998:451) indicate that it was Quoy & Gaimard, and that collectors' journal shows that the Carteret referred to is the one located in the Kilinailau Islands in Micronesia, near the Bismark Archipelago, and not the French Carteret [The location is approximately 2.898 N, 131.816 E]. This certainly fits in with the synonymy they give which includes several species from that region. [details]
