Description "Testa tereti, sensim attenuata, varie curvata, in congeriem affixa, exterius granulis sabulosis, confertim conglutinatis, vario-coloratis; apertura rotundata; paululum elevata." Nardo's description indicates a smooth 'shell' (tube), variously curved, grouped together, variously coloured, with an outside of sandy granules, and a round elevated opening. This description might match a serpulid cluster, but does not appear to definitively. [details]

Authority The work of Chiereghini was an unpublished manuscript. Nardo (1847) published an overview relating some of Chiereghini's names to other names as synonyms and publishing others, such as Sabella aggregata as valid, together with brief Latin diagnoses. Therefore the authorship is Nardo, 1847 ex Chiereghini ms. Siebold (1850) is a review of recent publications, in this case that of Nardo. Siebold was not involved in the authorship of Chiereghini names, but is mistakenly so recorded in the Hartman catalogue and other such works [G. Read, July 2016] [details]

Editor's comment the taxon aggregata Chierighini in Mörch, 1863: 445 is questionably referred to Eupomatus euplaeanus delle Chiaje by Mörch; therefore this nomen oblitum may be considered to be a Hydroides species, not identifiable with certainty but possibly H. pseudouncinatus.  [details]
