Description Claparède (1870: plate 14, fig 4) gives a clear figure of the operculum. It looks like a Hydroides norvegica operculum rather than that of H. elegans. [details]Specimen types not retained [details]
Synonymy Eupomatus trypanon cannot be a synonym of H. elegans as it is a senior name. Zibrowius (1971:721) preferred to match Eupomatus trypanon to Hydroides norvegica rather than H. elegans, based on the ecology of the occurrence. [details]
