Editor's comment Spio viridis appears senior to Aonis foliosa Audouin & Milne Edwards 1833, yet taxonomists of the time, aware of the apparent synonymy, preferred the name created by Audouin & Milne Edwards and regarded Spio viridis as invalid, for reasons as yet unknown (possibly just a mistake). [details]
