Taxonomy Knight-Jones & Perkins (1998) examined syntypes and confirmed the placement in Bispira. Earlier Fauvel (1927: 298) had...
Taxonomy Knight-Jones & Perkins (1998) examined syntypes and confirmed the placement in Bispira. Earlier Fauvel (1927: 298) had included the name as a synonym of Sabella pavonina, and the Hartman catalogue (159: 566) had redirected the name to Sabella penicillus (now S. spallanzanii). Neither of those synonymies seem probable. [details]
