Additional information Inshore waters adjacent to the Vestfold hills. in Burton Lake inhabits the upper stratum which ranges from brackish at the surfaceto hypersaline at 8 m depth. In Taynaya Bay, which has a depth in excess of 65 m, has a chemocline at between 10 and 15 m depth below which the water is hypersaline and contains much hydrogen sulfide; at this locality, the species inhabits the upper oxygenated stratum which is somewhat more than 10 m deep.
