Biology Type of larval development: direct (non planktotrophic) denoted by paucispiral protoconch. [details]

Diagnosis Shell 2.1- 2.4 mm high, with protoconch of 1.5 whorl and teleoconch of 3.0 to 3.5 whorls; Protoconch with 6-7 fine spiral threads, teleoconch with a sculpture of rather faint axial folds, and narrow spiral cords forming distinct knobs at their intersection with the axial sculpture. Microsculpture detectable only under SEM observation, consisting of minute granules, evenly and densely set.
Outer lip bordered at a short distance from the edge with a narrow and high rim on which the cords are continued but very attenuated; smooth inside although the external sculpture seen by transparency may give the impression of denticles. Shell translucent with a pattern of very pale brown blotches, starting with three to four on penultimate whorl, continued on body whorl, a more intense comma shaped blotch subsuturally just behind the outer lip, and another blotch on the outer portion of outer lip (covering the head in crawling position).  [details]

Distribution Atlantis seamount, endemic, very common in 280-420 m. [details]

Type locality Atlantis seamount (34º04.9'N, 30º15.3'W, 340 m). [details]
