Sinularia mauritiana, a new soft coral (family Alcyoniidae) from shallow subtidal waters off Mauritius
(Western Indian ocean) is described. Extremely long clubs in the surface layer of the lobes, the presence
of eight-radiates in the surface layer of the base, and the many spindles with simple tubercles in
the interior of the lobes, separate it from previously described species.
