In the Zoological Record for Crustacea for 1965 (Ingle et al., 1968) the name “C. elevatus sp. nov.” is listed on page 71 as having been created on page 63 of Kirtisinghe’s paper on copepod parasites of fishes of Sri Lanka (Kirtisinghe, 1964). Inspection of Kirtisinghe (1964) revealed that the new species described on page 63 was Caligus clavatus. It seems certain that Caligus elevatus is merely an incorrect subsequent spelling of C. clavatus Kirtisinghe, 1964. [details]
In the Zoological Record for Crustacea for 1965 (Ingle et al., 1968) the name “C. elevatus sp. nov.” is listed on page 71 as having been created on page 63 of Kirtisinghe’s paper on copepod parasites of fishes of Sri Lanka (Kirtisinghe, 1964).
