A joint Indonesia-Singapore Deep Sea Expedition (SJADES 2018) focusing on the benthic fauna of the
little sampled, western region of the Indonesian Archipelago has resulted in an extensive collection of sea stars (Asteroidea). Of these, two new species, an astropectinid and pterasterid, are herein described from mesopelagic depths in the Sunda Strait.
